The festival opening hosted by artistic director Michael McGlynn includes contributions by festival artists from various countries. In this event audience is introduced a work commissioned by the Tampere Vocal Music Festival: titled Maalaulu, it combines segments recorded in three countries into a single, unique experience, as has become common for the times we now live in. The work is performed by ANÚNA conducted by Michael McGlynn and Ordained conducted by Isaac S. Cates, with Finnish soprano Marjukka Tepponen as soloist.
