Isaac Cates was born in Kansas City, Kansas. A child prodigy, he began studying piano at age four. He received his formal music education at the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music, where he arranged spirituals, chorales, and set sacred text to music. He is a gifted vocalist, pianist, vocal arranger, and voice coach, who has taught music, directed choirs and served as a clinician at national music seminars. Over the past 12 years, he has recorded and performed with artists worldwide. Isaac has a unique ability to combine his knowledge of Classical and his roots of Gospel/Soul to create sophisticated harmonies, polyphonic rhythms, and dazzling piano accompaniments. He has performed for sold-out audiences and conducted and taught music workshops in Italy, Switzerland, England, Spain, and Germany.
